What's On My Desk...
Besides stacks upon stacks of presentations previewing beautiful products for next spring? Here are a few products that I'm excited about right now – some in store, some coming very soon!
1. Shampoo for Beautiful Color by Oribe. This is their most popular shampoo and is great for maintaining color. I need to hide it in the shower from my husband and kids.
2. Bumble & Bumble's new Pret-A-Powder Dry Style Extender. I continue to wash my hair less and less – helps me maintain color and reduce split end damage to my hair. This is perfect when applied to the roots to give a little extra lift and to dry up extra oil.
3. SkinCeuticals' new Antioxidant Lip Repair. Hyaluronic acid plumps and silymarin (milk thistle extract) and Vitamin E provide antioxidant protection. The creamy non-oily format makes it perfect under lipstick.
4. Seaberry Oil by Fresh. Seaberry, cranberry seed and sweet almond hydrate and soothe during the winter.
5. Laura Mercier’s Enlightenment Eye and Cheek Palette. We're definitely going on our holiday vacation to the Caribbean this year, and this is the perfect resort palette – arriving soon to our stores. I love the blushes and the Pure Glow eyeshadow (the coppery one, bottom left).
And, of course my UC Berkeley mug – it’s my 20th reunion this year, yes, I am that old. Go Bears!

I absolutely love this blog! Big props to your wonderful associates at your Blue Mercury location in Corte Madera, CA for spreading the word! They are quite the team and deserve all the praise in the world. I was just in store for the Holiday Beauty Event yesterday, and they transformed my experience completely!
Honestly, I’ve never been a loyal Blue Mercury client until the recent year, normally I’d shop at Sephora and just pop in occasionally to pick up my Nars Loose Powder (Sephora stopped carrying it!) You see my first couple visits to the Blue Mercury store were less than memorable, I felt out of place and the team was subpar (even slightly rude). Maybe it was because I looked “young and couldn’t afford the product”, who knows! I was in the store because I needed HELP! Needless to say, I dreaded going in. The final straw was a shocking experience with the Store Manager, which left me speechless and never wanting to step foot in the store again.
Last Holiday Season, I reluctantly drove 30 minutes to Blue Mercury because I had run out of powder. This time it was different. I was immediately greeted. Sara helped me find everything I needed and more. She was GENUINE. I told her about my past experience, and how no one would ever help me. She was like a “ray of sunshine”! She even made sure that I was contacted for all future events. This one positive experience literally made up for all the terrible ones.
Sara is a gem. She is the epitome of “excellent customer service” and really represents your brand well. She follows-up and always ensures that I have everything I needed/wanted! I love the little sample goody bags that she always includes with my purchases. She makes the customers feel like they are family.
Kudos to her and the Corte Madera team for their outstanding service. They are the reason why I no longer shop with Sephora!
